Turbo jump across the gap
As you blast toward the edge you experience the clarity of mind that sometimes visits those who are about to die.
A memory comes to mind, one that you suspect is from a past life. Once you saved a monkey-eating monkey, and to repay you it granted you the power of flight. If you had that power now, you could spread your monkey wings and glide serenely across the gap.
That was a past life, though, that power is lost to you now.
You remember something else. Another past life, when you valiantly saved a Pidgey from an oversized Ratatta. You beat it away with sticks. Afterwards the Pidgey pecked you and flew off. Ungrateful little beast. You don't have anything to save you.
With a sad beep, the turbo shuts off.
You go over the edge.
